kuṣo = back of head

-po = suffix meaning "to have hair on"

Another term used by O'odham for hair is mo'o. The term mo'o primarily means head so the use of mo'o can also mean hair which is an extension of one's head. If being specific, one calls the long portion of hair that grows from the back of your head = kuṣpo including pony tails and braids. Other terms used to identify head grown on one's head are huḍapo (hair grown from the side of one's head) and da:mpo (hair grown from "on top" or the top of one's head).
