Word of the Day

cekṣañ

Word Definition

line or lines

The word cekṣañ also means district. During the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934 the Papago tribe of Arizona was established. The task of dividing the previously established reservation into smaller political districts was easily solved by using the already established grazing cattle boundaries created by the Papago Civilian Conservation Corps and the "lines" on a map were from then on called districts.
